Yes, We love traveling! Outside the Greater Boston area does require travel fees, so please contact us to ask about your special day so we can talk about it further.
What do your wedding photography packages include?
All of our wedding photography packages include a minimum of 6 hours of coverage, a face-to-face initial consult to ensure we are on the same page, an on-site walk thru of the venue before the ceremony, delivery of high resolution professionally edited digital files, optionally on a flash drive. Other available options are wedding albums, prints, gallery wraps, acrylic and metal prints and more. Feel free to ask for more details or challenge us to make something new. We love a challenge.
Is your media preference film or digital?
These days we work exclusively in digital. While we have years of experience working with film, at this time we are not using film in our professional work.
How many photographers do you work with?
We typically will have two photographers on the day of the wedding, however, if your wedding needs additional photographers (like if you have more than 200 guests and/or a really big wedding party), we have a pool of many great wedding photographers that we can call on to provide the coverage you want.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
We shoot Canon Professional Equipment. We carry a minimum of two camera bodies, multiple lenses, speedlights, memory cards and enough spare batteries to power a small city. We always prepare by packing way more stuff than we expect to need. And then when we think we have everything we could possibly need, we pack some more.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes. Always. We are chronic over-packers. See above.
How soon after our wedding will our proofs be ready?
Within two or three weeks of your wedding, we’ll make a blog post of some of our favorite finished images, usually 10-20. A few weeks after that your proofing gallery will be available online. As we work on your photos, we’ll keep adding to the proofing gallery. Your photos will be finished within 60 days of your wedding, and once you approve the images in your proofing gallery for viewing and download, or optionally we will burn and ship your files.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
You will have a private online proofing gallery, with the option of it being password protected and completely private, or public for family and friends to see.
What does the Copyright Release allow me to do with my pictures?
This copyright gives you personal use rights to your photos. This means you can plaster them all over Facebook and Pinterest etc. until your heart’s content. You can blog about your special day. You can run down to the local drug store and print up 150 wallet prints of your favorite photo and send a copy to every one of your guests.
What you can’t do with your wedding photos is say that you took them, re-edit them or modify them in any way, or post them anywhere that requires that you claim sole ownership of the photos (you know, pretend that you made them). That includes entering them in most contests.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Yes, as your professional wedding photographer, we will retain copyright of all your wedding images, however we always provide an official copyright release for you allowing unlimited personal use and printing of your wedding photos.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
We prefer to; however, under certain circumstances this is negotiable. We respect your privacy and we will never insist on retaining any right to publish photos of you. But we hope you’ll agree that your photos are amazing enough to share!
What do you mean when you say The Photos are Professionally Edited?
Photos don’t just come out of a camera ready to hang on your wall. Truth is, a professional DSLR camera actually takes a pretty boring photo. It’s meant to be a blank slate so that the photographer can have complete artistic freedom. The professional DSLR captures an amazing amount of detail in every image, it does not process the image at all, we process your photos with our state-of-the-art software to create the final images. We keep the colors clean and the skin tones natural. If you have a blemish or there’s a spot on your tux , we can makes it disappear. If there’s a random street sign in an otherwise perfect photo, we can chop it out.
Why do you take so many photos, but only give us a few? Can we have them ALL?
On a typical wedding day, we will take between 1500-4000 photos, but the majority of those photos are taken in big bursts. Anytime we have a group of people in front of us, we will take 10-15 photos of each shot. That’s because it’s really hard to get a photo of a group of people with everyone’s eyes open and their mouths closed. So, out of that burst of photos, you’ll get the best 2, because in all the other photos people are blinking or talking or looking somewhere else or whatever they’re doing that isn’t what they should have been doing. It’s kind of the same for pictures of people doing anything. And since it takes a bunch of time to edit all those photos, only the good photos are pulled out and edited for you. In the end, you get a beautiful set of perfect photos showing everyone at their best, and you don’t have to weed through a bunch of crummy ones to find them. That’s why professional wedding photographers are so awesome.
